"Better to end this dream before it becomes a nightmare."
-- Rachel Cohn
"The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story, and writes another; and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume as it is with what he vowed to make it."
-- J.M. Barrie
I am rarely in a car as much as I was the past few days in Los Angeles with my friend ... because the traffic is so bad. It's such a good metaphor for the blocks, delays, interruptions and freak shows of life. In the car today on the way to the airport we got talking about orgasms and she told me that during her training as a cranial sacral therapist she had a full orgasm just by the way the practitioner was holding her head and that it was common in those trainings. I was thinking that our body is like the car, the vehicle for the transmission of energy … which can be highly sensitive and activated if held correctly or in the "right hands"… like that expression: you're in good hands …
Getting back to the car -- road-of-life metaphor … on the way back to my empty apartment in San Francisco, we nearly crashed on the highway … such a close call … an accident happened … there was a big crash … but could have been so much worse if I had not been in "good hands"…. this guy was an offensive driver and said if he had no predicted this Range Rover suddenly veering into our lane because she was texting and not paying attention to the road … we could be dead … no one was hurt. Still what a major reality check.
It's the second nearly serious car accident I have experienced in the backseat of a taxi in the past three months … and it's not anything I have any control over because I am a passenger … in the backseat … kind of how life feels at times. But we can put on our seatbelt, be alert and try to choose our drivers carefully when we aren't in the drivers' seat ourselves.
Interestingly enough, I also had a very potent dream recently of being in a car where NO ONE was in the drivers' seat … maybe an invisible god … that has definitely been my reality in both the positive and negative aspects over the past year. It brings up the question … when do we surrender and let go and let god and when is letting go of the wheel … just being unconscious and reckless? It's definitely a fine line and if any of you know about your Neptune transits, you can concur how delicate the balance is! Reality check:
What is your wake-up call of the moment?
